Day Four: Grandma Jane and her poopless wonder
Isaac hasn't pooped in almost three days now, and Grandma Jane is going crazy about it. Mainly because she gets stuck with him and his stinky trucker-farts allllllll day long. This afternoon he made sounds and smells like he filled up his diaper, and we were so excited that he was finally working things through. But no, it was pooT, not pooP. You see, now that he is a rice-cereal man, his poops are definitely a thing to behold. They are completely middle of the road -- not big boy poops, not little baby watery-mustard -- a gooey green ooze they are now.
So we, being the intrepid folk that we are, decided to brave the "real" food world once more to try to help get things movin' in that area, and offered Isaac some Gerber-ized peaches mixed with rice cereal and milk. He was much cooler with the peaches than he was with those evil peas, but there was still the look of incredible surprise and doubt with each spoonful. A quintessential "What the H?" look, as we would say in our house full of newly semi-sanitized mouths.
We also took Grandma Jane out to eat to thank her for her tireless babysitting. She had heard so much about this Red Robin burger joint we go to all the time out here that she just had to try it for herself. So we all ventured out and got our burger on, and Dad made up this great game to keep Isaac entertained. He puts the handle of his carseat up above Isaac's head and hangs these connecting rings from it in a short chain, just low enough so that Isaac can reach the bottom ring if he stretches a little and is really accurate in his grabbing. I think Little Buddy could have hung on those rings all night -- the Olympics are next, I'm sure.
