Isaac can sit up

Isaac's fever went away sometime during the night, and when he got up this morning he was rarin' to show Dad and I a new trick he figured out -- how to get into a sitting position all by himself. He starts from being on all fours, but then walks his legs inward so that his butt is sticking high-up in the air (ala the Calisthenics Baby picture from last week). He then brings his butt straight down, sitting on his hip and propped up by a hand that's still on the floor. He usually has to do this several times to get his butt down at just the right angle, such that his prop-hand is close enough to his body that he can balance his way into a sit. It's so complicated it's hilarious. I'll try to get a video soon.

"Yeah, did I tell you I got here all by myself?"

Oh yes, and he has a real shiner this time -- looks terrible, doesn't it? That came from his very first self-sitting adventure this morning. It ended with a tumble, gently banging his poor eye onto our upside-down-turned discovery pot. Owwwwwwww.

If I didn't know better I'd swear that was my baby Mike. I want to do It all over again. I'm so much wiser now. I could spoil him in new and different ways. Oh well I guess I'll just have to spoil baby Isaac.Mamaw C
