This vest is velvet and black -- the vest we ended up getting is velvet and burgundy, with a black tie. It has plastic buttons that match the color of the vest. I just wanted to see if it would fit him, since it is a "12 mo" size (but you know how these clothing manufacturers are...).
And, Grandma Jane, I apologize for not answering this query earlier -- his eyes are brown on the insides near his pupils and blue on the outsides. The effect on the whole is that they look green. In fact, they are very much like his mommy's...
